Craig Petersen commences as Acting NSW SPC President

Following the mid-term retirement of Chris Presland, the NSW SPC is pleased to announce that Craig Petersen, current NSW SPC Deputy President and College Principal – Denison College of Secondary Education, has been selected to fill the Acting President’s role from the beginning of Term 3 2019 until June 2020.

Mr. Petersen said he was delighted to take on the role and acknowledged the work of the outgoing President, Chris Presland:

“To lead the SPC is a great honour and a privilege and I thank Chris Presland for his outstanding leadership and contribution to the Council and our public schools. The SPC has a proud history of distinguished leaders and we will continue to honour their work and advocacy to ensure the NSW public education system is one of the most highly regarded education systems both nationally and internationally.”

As Deputy President of the NSW SPC since 2014, Mr. Petersen believes the influence of the Council in shaping education in NSW will only continue to grow:

“I look forward to drawing on the expertise of our membership and continuing to work with principals across NSW to ensure that decisions affecting schools are made based on the best interests of our students.
