Education Coalition ramps up funding dispute

NSW Education Alliance Forum – May 1 – NSW Parliament House Theatrette

A coalition of 15 signatories from leading education groups, representing parents, unions, teachers and principals from all school systems across New South Wales have issued invitations to NSW Government and NSW Non-Government MPs’s to the NSW Education Alliance Forum where they will be discussing the State Government’s plan to slash $1.7 billion from the education budget, coupled with the loss of national partnerships and not signing on with Gonski. They have also asked Government MP’s for written replies to a number of key questions.

The coalition is adament that if this budget cut goes ahead the detrimental impact on schools, families and student learning will be immense. The NSW Government seems determined to evade its legal and ethical responsibility to provide education of the highest quality to the young people of the state.
