Service Experience: Policy Reform and EOIs for Term 3 Collaboration Sessions

The program is set to release the third batch of updated policy documents into the Policy Library in Term 3 Week 2.

The aim is to make sure the program is building solutions which meet our schools’ needs.

The policy documents, including policy statements and procedures, are:

·       Enterprise management

·       Gifts, benefits, and hospitality

·       Work health and safety

These policies have been updated in line with feedback from schools to further clarify information, remove duplication and reduce the overall content. Refer to key improvements for more information. We’ve also uplifted the Policy library to improve the user experience in finding and applying policies and procedures. Refer to the Policy and Procedure Review Program page for more information.

Collaboration sessions: We have multiple opportunities to participate in upcoming collaboration sessions. The aim is to make sure the program is building solutions which meet our schools’ needs. Schools can complete the expression of interest form to participate in any of our upcoming opportunities on the policy program in Term 3.

Changes to the Finance in Schools Handbook (FISH): The FISH has been redesigned in partnership with principals, deputy principals and SASS to:

  • help you find information by separating topics onto separate pages, rather than one long page
  • link you to a variety of information sources including policy, procedural documents and QRGs
  • ensure consistency by reducing duplicated and outdated financial information on the website including information that is now included in the Financial management policy and procedures.

The financial advice, procedures, or tasks you need to complete in your school won’t change, just where and how you access that information.  You can support the program’s work by circulating the following key messages:

  1. Refer to Term 2 – key improvements to updated policies for more information.
  2. Consider using the school communications toolkit (also attached) to share consistent messaging with your school or school community.
  3. Check out the new features added to the Policy library, improving the user experience in finding and applying policies.
  4. Share upcoming participation opportunities with your school colleagues.
