Claim conditions and details
1. Reimbursement of expenditure: The Council can reimburse Council members for expenditure on a range of items.
ALL CLAIMS MUST BE MADE WITHIN 60 DAYS OF EXPENDITURE
2. Definition of country members: Country members are fully paid-up members of the NSWSPC who have been appointed to a school that is located north of the Central Coast Sub-region, northwest of Windsor, west of Penrith, southwest of Campbelltown and south of Wollongong.
3. Approved activities for the purposes of reimbursement
- 3.1 NSWSPC State Assembly.
The Council covers the cost of travel for all state assembly delegates to attend State Assembly each term. In addition, the Council will cover the cost of sustenance (if an overnight stay is required) and accommodation for country representatives. Accommodation for country representatives is pre-booked and prepaid by Council. It is the delegate’s responsibility to pay for any incidental costs when they check out. - 3.2 NSWSPC Professional Learning activities
Subsidies for travel, sustenance and accommodation at state-level Professional Learning activities are only available to country members. The Council will cover 75% of the cost of travel and $55 towards accommodation.- Travel
- The airport train should be used for travel to and from the airport where possible.
- Flights from Newcastle will not be paid.
- Principals must pay the full cost of their flights and then claim 75%, up to $240.

- Principals will be invoiced the cost of their accommodation (minus the $55 subsidy) along with the professional learning day registration fee.

4. Details of reimbursements and subsidies
4.1 Car travel is paid at the rate of 88 cents/km.
4.2 Air travel for DoE meetings: Where members are asked to meet with DoE personnel, they should ask whether that directorate or region will cover their costs. If the answer is no then please follow the guidelines in 4.3.
4.3 Making airline bookings for SPC authorised meetings: Please book flights through CVent registration or contact administration@nswspc.org.au
4.4 Sustenance subsidies will only be paid to country members. Meals have a set subsidy of $15 for breakfast and lunch, and $30 for dinner. Please attach your receipts to substantiate the payment of this subsidy.
5. Membership requirements: To claim reimbursement of expenditure, Principals must be current financial members of the NSWSPC. Where membership has been paid for by the school, a person deputising for the Principal may attend Council activities and then claim reimbursement if eligible. Where membership has been paid for by a Principal (i.e. by personal payment or salary deduction), the person deputising for that Principal should contact the Executive Officer to seek advice on attendance at Council activities and reimbursement.
