Need to Succeed
Thursday, 23 October, 8:45 am – 2:00 pm
Pullman Hyde Park Hotel
As a Professional Association The NSW SPC has maintained committed actions advocating for the agreed NERA funding with the Federal government. The significance of Gonski for education across schools, jurisdictions, states and territories cannot be understated. A commitment by the Federal Coalition for the fifth and sixth year is vital for education in Australia.
Our NSW Government (Minister Piccoli and Premier Baird) has committed to the original agreement by the state. The event is another important step in advocating for the full Gonski funding reform. There will be speakers from the Public, Catholic and Independent education sectors.
There will be exceptionally informative sessions including myth busting (Bernie Shepherd and Chris Bonnor), the NSW funding model based on the principles of Gonski and the translation of Gonski into practice and what is possible. Visit the NTS blog at www.needtosucceed.org
Dr Ken Boston , Kathryn Greiner and other high profile speakers will present on “Why we need fairer school funding “. The combined support of educators, parents, young people, community members and associations as listed below and further afield are required to continue the discussion and advocacy for a fairer funding reform. Your attendance will significantly contribute to this goal.
