2017 Bill Kennedy Medal – Lila Mularczyk OAM

The 2017 Bill Kennedy Medal is awarded to Lila Mularczyk OAM who has an enduring commitment to Public Education, the NSWSPC and the development of quality leadership in secondary schools across NSW.

Lila demonstrates dynamic, inspirational, creative and influential leadership. She has made an outstanding and continuous contribution to a range of organisations including the NSWSPC, ACEL and many national and state working parties. Lila is a champion of public education in NSW through her work at the school, state and national levels. She has been an influential leader in every role she has held. Her work is characterised by her willingness to do more, to push boundaries and to create opportunities for students, staff and colleagues to excel.

As a principal and as a former President of the NSW Secondary Principals’ Council, with responsibility for ensuring advocacy and the professional learning of public school secondary principals, Lila has modelled the highest levels of professionalism. She has made an impact on the development of students and school leaders across the state and sectors.

In conclusion, Lila Mularczyk  is an outstanding talent and an outstanding asset to education. She has demonstrated excellent leadership at a whole range of levels but in particular, as a principal in the NSW Public Education System and as a champion of the NSWSPC. She has solid determination and tenacity to ensure that a job is done well. She is a sharp thinker and demonstrates great creativity and a flair for innovation and cutting edge initiatives.
